When old favourites feel new again.

It’s no secret that fashion is cyclical so when “new” trends emerge, don’t be surprised when if it feels like déjà vu. As social distancing is giving us a head start on our spring closet clean out, we suggest you keep an eye out for these six spring 2020 shoe trends you’ll likely find hanging around from previous seasons. Whether they are decades old or from last spring, the top spring 2020 shoe trends from the runway can easily be reinvented without leaving the house.

Loafers

Beat up or brand new, there’s no denying that the loafer is the shoe of the season. Flat to the ground or with a block heel, these classic loafers are giving us major ’70s vibes. Dust off your much-loved loafers and wear them with or without socks. Add an old piece of chain to the top to get a decorated look or paint out the upper vamp if you want to try something geometric.

Espadrilles

This summer staple is back again. Try giving your favourite espadrilles an update with fresh ribbon or rope you have laying around the house or sew on some extra beads and bling for an embellished look.

Tall Boots

Just when you thought it was time to pack away your boots, we’ve decide they should stick around a little longer. With tall boots being styled for spring with shorts and dresses it’s time you give them a little TLC. Brush up on some leather care tips to make sure these beauties will shine all season long.

Thong Sandals

Your shower shoes have been promoted. Take out your favourite flip flops and put them front and centre. Try wearing them with a simple skirt or trousers to channel the minimalist trend.

Mary Janes

Straight from your childhood wardrobe, Mary Janes have made a mega comeback. Flat or heeled, the strap makes them look sweet and feel secure. Even if you don’t have a pair that quite fits right now,  look for old ballet flats and give them a DIY Mary Jane makeover. A small piece of ribbon or elastic put in place with a safety pin and decorative brooch will give you the right vibe.

Platforms

We’re getting Spice Girls flashbacks as we see platforms hit high notes again. More comfortable than high heels, you know you were hanging on to your flatforms for a reason.
