Is Jiocinema Free To Watch Movies?

Currently, JioCinema is a subscription video on-demand service that offers viewers access to a wide range of films, television shows, music videos, documentaries, and more. It was launched on September 5, 2016, by Indian telecom company Reliance Jio and its subsidiary, Viacom 18.

Genres of content available on the platform

Among the many video streaming services available in the Indian telecom landscape, JioCinema stands out for its plethora of videos and movies. The app’s library boasts over 1 lakh hours of content, spanning everything from classic films from the 1960s and 1970s to latest releases from 2021.

The company’s most recent announcement is its multi-year content deal with Roy Kapur Films. This means JioCinema has access to the biggest and best collection of south Indian TV content. Besides the latest releases, the app boasts original videos across genres.

The app has a separate section for each genre. The best part is that the app is smart enough to adjust itself to your available Internet speed. As a result, you can enjoy the aforementioned gimmick of watching back to back episodes of your favorite serials. The company recommends a speed of at least 2Mbps to avoid slowing the app down.

Moreover, the app offers original videos in several languages. The library features content from Zee Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, Eros Now and ALTBalaji.

Reliance Jio’s plans to expand the service

Having launched 4G services in late 2016, Reliance Jio’s plans to expand the service include introducing 5G-enabled wi-fi in public places and educational institutions. These services will be available across urban and rural areas. The company plans to add 5,000 to 6,000 sites per week.

The company’s ambitious 5G plans are in line with its wider strategy to provide affordable telecom services to consumers and enterprises. Jio’s 5G plans are expected to be rolled out across India within 15 months.

Jio is a major catalyst in the rapid proliferation of broadband data in India. The company’s broadband connectivity solutions offer high speed Internet to every home and office. Its services allow users to work from home, learn from the comfort of their own home, and stay healthy at home.

Jio has also tapped into its domain expertise across multiple industries and verticals. It has a large in-house R&D team with over 8,000 technical professionals. Jio’s technology-based operating efficiencies and superior customer service are also a major advantage. Jio’s broadband services are backed by pan-India 4G spectrum and a state-of-the-art fiber network.

Reliance Jio’s partnership with SunNXT

Streaming services Sun NXT and JioCinema have partnered to provide the Jio users with a huge library of movies. The new deal will host over 4,000 movies in the South Indian language region. Moreover, it will provide the users with the entire Sun NXT catalogue. It also includes content from Balaji Telefilms’ ALTBalaji and Viacom 18 Media’s Voot.

Sun NXT is a popular streaming app in the South. It offers content in five regional languages. In addition, SunNXT also provides a large collection of movies for the South Indian viewers. However, Sun NXT has not tried its hand in original content.

Currently, JioCinema has a tie-up with Walt Disney Company, Viacom 18 Media’s Voot and Balaji Telefilms’ ALTBalaji. It also hosts over 10,000 movies. Jio users have access to all of the movies and television shows from these partners.

In addition, JioCinema has partnered with Sun NXT to host its “Super South Swag.” This swag will include the best of South Indian movies. JioCinema also offers its users the ability to access trailers and TV show episodes.

Reliance Jio’s plans to bring the app to the web

Almost a year after launching a mobile data service, Reliance Jio has plans to bring its JioMeet app to the web. The app is a video conferencing service, and will compete against Cisco Webex, Google Duo and Zoom. Its beta version is currently live on smartphones. But Reliance Jio hasn’t yet announced a nationwide launch.

According to Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Jio can connect 100 million homes with its 5G network by the end of 2023. It will use spectrum that it purchased for $11 billion in August.

Jio is the first to launch a 5G service in India. The company has plans to extend its network to “every town” by 2023. It plans to introduce 5G services in key cities during Diwali in October. The company has also earmarked $25 billion for the rollout.

Finally

Reliance Jio’s plans include free Jio apps, free OTT services, free voice calls and SMS benefits. It also offers discounts on recharges and bill payments.
